Today was a very packed day full of all type of experiences it felt like the result of packing 3 days into 1.
We left "Lakes Entrance" very early in the morning and went to see the sunset.
It was the perfect day today 29 C and blue skies everywhere, so we got onto the bus and headed for Wilsons promontory, the southest point in inland Australia.
We did a first stop to see some kangaroos in the wild. There were lots of them, as they were all in the shade you only had to look for a tree and look in the shade and invariably you would find two or three sharing the shade. We walked for 20 minutes or so you didn't have to go far to see them, they were everywhere.
We got back in the bus and headed for the coast. There we prepared ourselves for a 2 hour walk in a very sunny day and as we were protecting our skins with sun creams, hats etc, our guide gave us instructions for the walk told us he would wait for us at the beach.
The views from the walk were absolutely fantastic as you can see from some of the pictures. We went up a hill and then boarded the coastline until the beach. Just before going down we stopped to have lunch.

As we descended the walk towards the beach, the views of the beach were breathtaking, you can't really appreciate it from the pictures, the sand looks yellow on the pictures but in reality it was white like snow and it made a whistling sound as we walked on it, at first we thought it was a bird or something but after a while we came to realise it was us making the noise. This is the first truly white sand beach I've ever seen in my life.
Very appropiate name I would say. It did squeak under your feet. :-)
As we were approaching the beach we could see someone surfing there, there were perfect waves for it. When we came closer we realised the surfer was our guide!! He had spent the two hours we used for the walk surfing in this perfect beach!
As soon as we all stepped on the beach, the first thing we did was to take a dip in the freezing water. Up north in Cairns the water was quite warm, in Sydney it was cool but still nice...here in Victoria is simply cold although I've tried colder waters.
We roasted under the sun for an hour or so and headed back to the bus...final destination Melbourne. By 6pm we reached our destination, checked in into our backpackers hotel "Melbourne Nomads"
and after leaving our luggage in we went out for a stroll.
They also sell "Chocolate con churros" in Melbourne!
