Tasmania - Day 8

--
Today we had what looked like a boring day in front of us but it turned out to be quite nice and relaxing in the end.

Our plan was to be dropped off by John, the guide, last night after coming from Cradle Mountain and take the overnight ferry. Unfortunately we made a mistake with the date and booked it for the following day which was the date we had in our schedule.

John was kind enough to let us spend the night at the house with the rest of the group, for free. :-)

So we had one more night of fun with the group.

The following day in the morning we said goodbye to everyone and went to the only McDonalds in town (and probably in Tasmania!) and we did a little bit of catch up with our emails and blog posts,  at last!

We order our breakfast and spent the whole morning there. Considering we were left at McDonalds at 8-8:30 am and the ferry left at 21:00 we had plenty of time for anything.

So we spent the morning playing catch up with our emails and in my case also with the blog entries, then we went to walk around town...*check this out!*

That's it folks! THAT is Devonport! :-)

They had a boat race today so it was really noisy every time they passed by. It is obviously a ver quiet place otherwise.

I went to the local Information centre to enquire about where we could leave our luggage for the day and they were kind enough to let us leave it there so we did. I also went to ask to the local ferry company for the ferry to cross the river and take us to the Tasmania to Melbourne ferry but unfortunatelly, today was Sunday and they didn't work on Sundays and yesterday they broke down a propeler so they won't be working for a while... tough luck! We had to find another way to go across the river.

We had lunch and went back to McDonalds for dessert and some more internet, then we went for another walk and by 4.30 or so, when they were about to close the information centre we went there to pick up our luggage. The lady there order a taxi for us and the taxi took us to the ferry station and all the way we were chatting with the lady driving the taxi about "Flamenco and Bullfighting", in case you didn't know, as far as the great mayority of people...outside Spain...that's what we do! We all know how to dance flamenco. :-)

But fear not, here I was to straighten her out. One taxi driver less to  educate. :-)

We had a perfect moon for a werewolf today. ;-)

And that's how we said farewell to Tasmania... Great place, totally recommended!
