Great Ocean Road - (Melbourne to Adelaide) - Day 3

--
The best day of the three without a doubt. Not so touristic as the first one but with the same good weather.

We got up quite early and after a quick breakfast while waiting for the guide to go and pick up the people in the more...luxurious accomodation some used that time to write postcards or write on their diaries...a relaxing way to start the morning.

The first stop of the day was at the McKenzie falls. This was a nice and easy 15 minutes walk.

After posing for more than 100+ pictures it becomes a bit difficult to come up with a good pose, so I decided to try something new and innovative. :-)

Then we went to the highlight of the day! Hollow Mountain!!

A short walk but really interesting as you'll be able to see from the pictures, 2.4 Km return. Totally worthwhile.

And if you pay very close attention to the following photo and you have a very good eye-sight you may be able to see me and you'll also be able to imagine how big this wall was.

And the best part of the walk, was the top of the mountain that as its name indicates...it's hollow

The group that went to the top of Hollow Mountain

After that we went to a small village to have lunch and the two chocoholics below bought the more chocolate densed item on the planet. Tripple chocolate muffin with chocolate bits and topped with chocolate cream...you can't get more chocolate than that!

If a diabetic person gets within a 10 meters radius of this muffin he would probably die! I've never seen anything packing so much chocolate in my life!

After a good lunch we all got back to the bus and it seems the walk plus the food had an effect on people...

We drove for quite a while and got into a new state "South Australia"

It was a long drive so we played games on the bus

Suddenly another hard break, I turned my head and heard the guide shouting my name...Got my camera and another quick run for another rarity, THE KOALA Sign!!!

He woke everyone up this time! :-) Everyone groaned like...not another road sign!!! But I got my koala. :-)

We finally made it to Adelaide just before dark and it turns out Chinatown it was a few meters away from our accomodation so we went there for dinner.

Chinesse food must be eaten with chopsticks, so everyone got to try them. :-)

Next two days we'll be touring Kangaroo island so it is likely I won't be able to upload any entries in those two days...but then we'll be back in Adelaide for 3 more days where we'll have lots of time with no plans...

  1. Where did you learned to write? Maybe in Peritos' canteen ;) . You are great and your history is funny. If I were you I would start to write tourist guides.

  2. That would be a job I wouldn't mind doing!. :-)

Just travel around the world, have fun and blog about it (or write a book about it).

    Ahh...if only...
