Back in Melbourne - Day 3

--

Last night we really didn't know what to do today, the only plan we had was going to the beach if and only if we had a good sunny day today, and we did...lucky us! because we didn't have a plan B.

We haven't found much to do in Melbourne really so we are esentially just making time waiting for the next excursion to start...and that's tomorrow. :-)

Great Ocean Road (4 days)+ Kangaroo island (2 days). Part of the first 4 days is a free day in Adelaide which I'm hopping shall allow us to find an internet place where to upload the blog entries from the previous 3 days and then coming back from Kangaroo island we'll stay in Adelaide for another 3 days or so, time more than enough to find some internet connection to keep you all inform with the latest info. :-)

So coming back to today. We had a look at the weather report this morning at the backpackers hotel and it announced 28C, but in the morning it was still a bit cloudy so we used part of the morning to go to a post office and send some stuff back home. I liberated myself from 4.45 Kg, not much you may think...but at about 10 AUD$ per Kg...it adds up. By the way, I sent the package by sea (air was double price) so I'll probably get back to Spain before my stuff...MarĂa...I am sorry to tell you this but you'll have to wait for your koala to arrive...although on the positive side...it has travel by sea, air and land! :-)

From the Post Office we caught the tram to Melbourne Port
20 minutes later we were at the beach and the sky had cleared out so we had a great beach day in front of us. The water was very still and crystal clear in the morning

The buildings by the beach were quite impressive some even had the coolest swimming pools ever!
Who wouldn´t wanna have a swim in one of those!? :-)

We had lunch in a local bar by the beach and went back to the hard work of laying down on the beach. In the afternoon the wind picked up a little so the water had some more waves which was good since the beach was plagued with jellyfish in the morning but with the waves they kinda went away which allowed us to go for a dip in the sea. :-)

The beach is not far from the centre, if you look beyond the palm trees you can see the high buildings in the town centre.
After such a hard day we decided to go back to the backpackers hotel and recharge all of our electronics since tomorrow we start a 6 days tour and you never know when you are gonna find a plug. :-)
Tram back to the centre

And then I just went for a quick stroll around our hotel and passed by the Victorian market that although it was already closed, it was quite picturesc

And tomorrow back on the road!
