Tasmania - Day 6

--
Today it was supposed to be a relaxing day with very little driving. First a stroll by the village (Stranhan) for about two hours. There was a park with a waterfall that you could walk to within a 40 min return. Now, when I say "park" most people would think of a place with grass, ducks and the odd tree...well, in this case is a park like in Jurasic Park.

It's what here call a temporary rainforest.

Then we walked to the lookout and took a few pictures from the lake which was really nice and quiet today.

Then we hopped onto the bus for 10 minutes and went to the local beach, unfortunatelly the weather changed in that time and it was quite windy making it a bit too chilli for sunbathing or even sea bathing for that matter.

So instead we played a mix of frizzbee and rugby which was quite entertraining. :-)

Another BBQ (not that I am complaining, I love BBQs) and my times in McDonalds keep hunting me, this time hot dogs!

After lunch we went for a walk to the dunes.

Two years ago in Brazil, María, Susana and I spent sometime going through dunes and since that experience we´ve learnt a few techniques about the quickest way to throw someone down a dune...you'll be all glad to know I´ve put some of those techniques to the practice today with great results. :-)

Climbing a dune is a lot of hard work, when you fall from it "accidentally", having to climb it back hurts even more. ;-) At least this time I've managed to keep my camera away from the sand and it's still in perfect working condition. :-)

We got back on the bus and headed for Mountain Cradle National Park and World Heritage.

Our first group photo, 7 people missing though, including John, the guide.

Sebastian (English),Jazmin (Japanese), Jeez (Japanese), Vanesa (German), Paul (Australian) and Frank (German).

And my first wombats!

It doesn't get furrier than that, does it?

Tomorrow is the key day. Weather permitting, we shall climb Mount Cradle which is about 6-7 hours walk and it is not considered an easy walk. If the weather is not good enough we'll probably end up doing some alternative walk. Time will tell!
