Perth - Day 1

--
This is going to be another short entry. With the flight and all there wasn't much time for anything really. We flew from Alice Springs to Perth and made it there by midday.

The backpackers resort we picked turned out to be pretty good

or perhaps we are used to other standard...or substandard would be a better choice of words. Anyway, when we saw this one Aída and I smiled at each other and inmediately booked the next 7 days after the Albany excursion on the same place. It's only 15-20 minutes walk from the centre.

So after leaving all our stuff at the Billabong we decided to get familiarised with the City centre so went there and then walk around the centre for a while.

The best place we found is a street Aída named the Swiss street, and you'll see why as soon as you see the photos.

Then we went to a McDonalds were we spent the rest of the afternoon catching up with emails, blog, facebook etc...nothing to exciting I'm afraid.

For what we saw in this day, it became obvious to us that Perth is a nice town. It's a fairly big town/city but with the peace and quietness from a small village. On top of that, it has the largest in city park IN THE WORLD, it is called King's Park and we have planned a visit there for next week.

We just got here but we already have the next 4 days in Perth already booked up! :-)

Tomorrow, weather permitting, the beach, then the 3 day excursion to Albany and back, after that, one day doing a cruise up and down the river which looked pretty interesting, following day Rottnest Island by bicycle and the next day King's pàrk. We haven't decided what to do yet on the other 4 remaining days but I'm sure we'll think of something interesting and relaxing because with the excursion to Alice Springs and now with the one to Albany so close together we are going to need a good break.

It looks like we've been driven around and haven't done much for the past 2 months (apart from taking lots of photos) but in reality all the excursions we've done have been quite physical, some more than others but there's always been a 2-3 hour walk sometimes more than one in a day, some swimming in a beautiful beach even diving at the beginning and probably also on the next excursion so it's not the kind of holiday where you just lay by the beach and let them take you from one place to another. This is just what the doctor would prescribe! :-) and we are loving every day!
