Perth to Broome - Day 10

--
Good Morning Australia!!

I'm not sure how I managed to work out which toilet was the male toilet last night but today in the morning when I saw the signs I had no idea how I did it, judge by yourself.

Ladies
and Gents

And we found another weird bug...

When we were all ready we packed everything in the bus and took a couple of group pictures

we had a long way in front of us...as usual...so we couldn't avoid taking a few more "road pictures" :-)
By the way, as we were about to go to the road to take the pictures, a road train stopped just where we were standing...a 3 trailer road train! Check it out!

It looks like 3 trucks parked on in front of another but they are only 1 truck with 3 trailers!
That didn't prevent us from taking our road pictures. ;-)

We were getting to the end of this long and exciting trip, our last destination was the 80 mile beach but Murray, the guide decided not to take us there and instead took us to town beach not far from Broome.
The water is so blue...a pity about the stingers...and the crocodiles!

We were all really happy with the tour and the great time we had but the only negative thing I would say about this tour was the guide, Murray. Of the 8-9 tours I've done, I would say he was the worst guide we had, hands down but even despite of this it has been a great tour.

I think Murray just wanted to get home and get rid of us as soon as possible so pretty much told us we couldn't do the 2-3 last things we had in the itenerary and instead tooks us to this beach to have lunch.

He was rude, very disorganised, and had a total lack of imagination when it came to preparing lunch. We had sandwiches for lunch for 9 days in a row...I don't think I'll be eating a freaking sandwich again in a long time! but even the sandwiches were always the same too...his comments about the places were boring and uninteresting and he always looked like he wasn't sure what he was talking about... not too mention his drinking at night... it wasn't just one or two beers... and the following day he would spend the whole day driving...

It's really incredible how much a good or bad guide can affect things. Back when we were doing the Perth to Albany tour, when we reached Albany some of us returned to Perth (3 day tour) and the people on the 5 day tour continued. There was another guide that picked us up and drove us back to Perth. His only job really was to be our driver for the afternoon...and had he done just that nobody would have complain about it...but the guy was really good and his enthusiasm was quite contagious. He would get all excited about a lizard by the road, telling jokes, talking to people...even talking to the bus... we bounded more with him in a few hours than we some other guides in several days... but guides are a lottery...

And then quickly dropped us in town in our respective accomodations so instead of finishing at 6 we ended up finishing at 3. :-(

As 10 of us were staying at the same place (Kimberly club) we asked to be all in the same room, that way we wouldn't have to lock up our stuff every time we left the room.

We had a shower, got changed and went for our last dinner together.

It was a good, good night. :-)
